Grilled pizza~

The children and I have been very busy this summer, and it is hard to believe that it is almost over. I will welcome the cooler temperatures that fall is sure to bring. We have been having temps of 110 and even over on some days. My little herb garden is still alive, but with this heat it must be watered a great deal. I have a lot of garden fresh produce, so today I am making some homemade pasta sauce to freeze for another day. I may even cook it down to use as a base sauce for pizza. I am in love with grilled pizza! It does not heat the house and the flavor is so good!!! To make it is quite easy, just make your pizza dough and pat it into personal pan pizza rounds, spray with a little oil, and grill on both sides, until not quite done. Next, bring inside, top with sauce, cheese and toppings and return to the grill, shutting the lid to melt the cheese. You can put it under the broiler for about a minute if you like your cheese a bit browned, as I do. It has a smokey flavor, almost as if it was made in an old brick oven. Yum!!!
