I am blessed~

I am so blessed to have the gift of my children. Today we watched a show about children and family's in El Salvador, who just don't have what they need to live. It not only touched my heart, but my children's hearts as well. My two little girls have agreed to donate all the money that we make from this fall's yard sale, and lemonaid stand to SOS ministries to help the poor. We are going to make this a yearly thing that we do. To see how much my chlidren care about other's just makes my heart feel so full and blessed, and I know that I am the luckiest woman in the world to have children as wonderful, as I do. What a gift God has given to me. :)

Megan

Last Friday Megan had a couple of her class mates over for a slumber party. It was a few weeks after her birthday, but better late than not at all. :) It was a nice little party. We ate pizza (always a good thing, in my book!), played games, did nails while watching a movie, then before bed...a pillow fight. :) It was great fun, and worth the missed sleep! Here are a few photos of the little party.

Here is a photo of the pin the tail on the donkey game~

Here is a photo of the "Mother May I game"

Megan had a strawberry pie instead of cake, because she does not like cake. :)

Swim Lessons~

The girls have completed their summer swim lessons. Lauren did great job, as always. Megan has always been fearful of the swim classes. She loves to go swimming, however had never cared to much for the swim lessons. I am so happy to report, that she seems to have overcome her fear! I am so proud of her, for trying so hard this time. We were blessed to have a wonderful young lady, who was firm but kind, and helped Megan to find the courage to truly learn this time around.

Grilled pizza~

The children and I have been very busy this summer, and it is hard to believe that it is almost over. I will welcome the cooler temperatures that fall is sure to bring. We have been having temps of 110 and even over on some days. My little herb garden is still alive, but with this heat it must be watered a great deal. I have a lot of garden fresh produce, so today I am making some homemade pasta sauce to freeze for another day. I may even cook it down to use as a base sauce for pizza. I am in love with grilled pizza! It does not heat the house and the flavor is so good!!! To make it is quite easy, just make your pizza dough and pat it into personal pan pizza rounds, spray with a little oil, and grill on both sides, until not quite done. Next, bring inside, top with sauce, cheese and toppings and return to the grill, shutting the lid to melt the cheese. You can put it under the broiler for about a minute if you like your cheese a bit browned, as I do. It has a smokey flavor, almost as if it was made in an old brick oven. Yum!!!

Lauren's donation to Locks for Love~

Lauren grew her hair for two years so that she could donate it to Locks for Love. Locks for love is a group that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer treatment. I am so happy that Lauren has such a sweet and giving heart.
