Here is a photo of the Snoopy stuffed animal, that Lauren got for me. Her class had a "garage sale" where each child was given pretend money, and she is so sweet and thoughtful that she brought gifts for others. Including her cousin who was having his 3rd birthday, and I was getting him clothes, she thought he should have a toy also.
Here are the homemade buns that I plan to serve our veggie sloppy joes on for tonight's dinner.
Here are what my three little ones are doing right now. They are getting over a slight sickness. (Chest cold, with low grade fevers)
I could not resist snapping a photo of the girl's room, it looks so cute when I walk by. ;)

Our Trip to Wamego & Liam's 3rd Birthday Party
This last weekend the children and I went to my brother and his wife's home for little Liam's 3rd birthday celebration. Steven was working at the Cosmopher's Apollo 13 event, and got to meet some awesome people. The photo is of Fred H. and Jim Lovell looking into the Apollo 13 craft that they traveled back to Earth inside. Pretty cool stuff!

Granola Bar Recipe
Home made granola bar recipe~
I found this recipe on line, at one of my favorite blogs. I have changed the wheat germ to organic whole wheat white flour, but feel free to change it back.
In Kitchen aide or large bowl add the following
2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup unbleached (organic) flour
1/2 cup brown sugar (if you don't have brown, white will work)
3/4 cup chocolate chips or raisins with 1 tsp cinnamon (only add the cinnamon with raisins.)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
Mix well and spread into a greased casserole dish. I remove my ring and pat this flat and even with my hands, as this is a very sticky dough.
It should look like this.
Bake 350 for 20-23 min.
Let cool, then cut into the bar shapes. You can freeze them, although this is my first time making them, so I have not yet tried the freezing method. I have however, tasted them, and they are very good! The neat thing is you can use organic fresh ingredients, and add what ever you like in them! Enjoy!

Really cool campers~
There is a group I have learned about called Sister's on the Fly. It is a group of women who fix up old campers and set out on the road for adventures. Many fly fish, but many just go to camp and enjoy good company. I found some photos of a few campers, and how cute they decorate them! Kind of makes me want a camper! That would be a fun project, and when it was not being used to camp, it could be a little place the children and I could have tea and read stories. :)

Kitchen Prayer
I found this prayer years ago, in the Amish cook book that my parents gave to me. It is one of my favorite prayers, and I thought I would share it.
Kitchen Prayer
Dear Lord, before I start this day of tasks that it will bring
May I refresh my soul right here where pots and kettles sing.
This is my "realm" where I perform the work I best can do.
And here I always seem to feel especially near to you.
For you have planned in this small room such homely tasks for me
That I can do them easily and keep my mind on thee.
The writings of the Holy Book, the lessons they all teach.
I've but to live them day by day serenity to reach.
Again when twilight time has come give me a short time, too,
Here, through the deepening shadows, my tidied kitchen view.
And solace find in simple things accomplished here by me,
A flaky pie, a loaf of bread, my family's joy to see.
The things that in this little home I do with practiced skill,
Help me as well in other ways, O Lord to do thy will.

Beautiful Saturday~
What a beautiful Saturday we had. The girls and I got up early and went to a neighborhood garage sale. I found some cute things for the guest room, some nice summer clothes for Justin, a nice vacuum for down stairs. (not fun carrying my vacuum upstairs down and back up all the time.) Then we came home and had a family clean up. The children cleaned their rooms, and Steven and I did the rest. Tristyn had just gotten up, he loves to sleep in on Saturdays. (Through the school year, those are really the only days that he can.) He and his friends are growing up right before my eyes. When he went to the skating rink the other evening, he looked so grown up, it brought tears to my eyes. It seems like just yesterday I held him in my arms for the first time, and gazed into his deep blue eyes. Sigh... Lauren and Megan had a play date during the afternoon at our house. They played dress up and painted wooden butterfly magnets, and just had fun playing in the little school room. Then when Gianna left, they watched a movie I had gotten from Netflix, The Rescuers. (I had the book when I was a child.) Tristyn had a friend stay the night last night.
I snapped the cutest photo yesterday. Steven was out mowing the back yard, and Justin wanted to help him. (Grandpa and Grandma got him a pretend mower last year for his birthday.) :) It was so cute. He also has a play vacuum, and helps me vacuum our house too! I am going to run to get some Cotton fabric for some sewing projects this morning, before church. I love to hand sew, and I am going to make some little hand bags for when the girls get invited to birthday parties. Here is the photo from yesterday, have a blessed day!

Beautiful Spring Day
Today was a beautiful day outside, so it seemed fitting that Justin and I get out and enjoy some of it! We read his new dinosaur book that he checked out at the library the other day, so we decided to go to our zoo and play on the dinosaur slide! He turned out to be pretty scared of the large birds that were roaming around the zoo, so we only stayed for a short time. :)

Easter 2010~
We had a very nice Easter day. We did the normal Easter day activities...Church, a yummy brunch and dinner, playing at the park, coloring Easter eggs, egg hunt, flying a kite, and a lot of good family time. Tristyn rode his scooter around the park, while the little ones played. It was a beautiful springtime day and we enjoyed it. We need to get our bikes up and running, so we can go on bike rides in this beautiful weather. Here are a few more photos of our Easter day.
